LongShot · Last updated 11 July 2026

LongShot does not collect your data. There are no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. The app sends no data to any server we control — we do not operate a server at all. Everything LongShot does to your screenshots happens on your device.

Screen recordings

When you record a scrolling capture, LongShot uses Apple's ReplayKit to record your screen. The video is written to LongShot's own private storage on your device, analysed on-device to extract and stitch frames, and deleted once the long screenshot is produced. The recording is never uploaded anywhere.

Photos

LongShot asks for Photos access for two reasons: to read the screenshots you explicitly select when using Smart Stitch, and to save the finished long screenshot back to your library. It reads only the images you pick. It does not scan, index, or upload your photo library.

iCloud sync

iCloud sync is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. When it is on, your stitched images are stored in your own private iCloud database, under your Apple Account, using Apple's CloudKit, so they are available on all your devices. The developer has no access to this data and cannot read it — Apple's private database is readable only by you. Nothing is sent to us, and nothing is stored outside your Apple Account. Turning the setting off stops syncing; deleting the app or your iCloud data removes it.

Safari extension

The optional Safari extension captures a full-page screenshot of the web page you are viewing, on your device, when you invoke it. The page content is rendered to an image locally and handed to the LongShot app. Nothing about the pages you visit — no URLs, no page content, no browsing history — is collected, stored, or transmitted off your device.

Purchases

LongShot Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Your payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or receive your payment details. The app only learns whether your purchase is active.

Feedback email

If you choose to send feedback from within the app, the email is pre-filled with your app version, device model, iOS version, language, and whether you have a Pro subscription — so we can reproduce the problem you are reporting. You can see and edit all of it before sending, and no email is sent unless you send it. We use it only to answer you.

Children

LongShot is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
